The 2nd Consultation Workshop on Waste in Osaka, Japan, on 18-19 November 2010

Objectives

In accordance with the recommendations of the 1st Consultation Workshop on Waste, held on 30 November - 1 December 2009 in Geneva and subsequent meetings, UNEP IETC will establish the Global Partnership on Waste Management (GPWM) to support partnerships among various international, regional, national and local stakeholders on waste management. GPWM will facilitate the implementation of UNEP Governing Council decision (GC 25/8) on Waste Management.

The objectives of the 2nd Consultation Workshop are (1) to finalize the framework of the GPWM including the implementation strategy, and (2) to launch the GPWM. The workshop will be co-organized by the Global Environment Centre Foundation (GEC), a supporting organization of UNEP-IETC.
